Biography
I discovered acting at the age of ten, when I was cast as a young boy on the Mayflower in a series of historical skits put on by the local homeschool group. I was immediately struck by the enjoyment of creating and expolring a character other than myself, and by the thrill of performing. I went on to play roles in similar amateur productions throughmy preteen and early teenage years, and to attend the Springer Opera house's Springer Theater Acadermy, an intensive, four-week class, consisting of courses in speech, stage movement and choreography, musical theater, improv, stage combat, and tumbling.
After my family's move to northern New York, I played chorus and bit parts in several musical productions with Watertown Lyric Theater, and also performed as a stilt-walking clown with the Watertown Lyric Theater Clown Troup.
Shortly after I turned seventeen, my family moved to the Rhineland-Palatine area of Germany, where I learned to speak and read some German and to speak English with a German accent, but did not find any opportunities to pursue acting.
At the age of nineteen I joined the United States Air Force, and spent a year studying Arabic at the Defense Language Institute in Monterey California.
I have since left military service to marry and start a family, and now that my children are old enough to allow it, I am trying to get back into acting and the performing arts.
Personal interests
Reading, cooking/baking, kickboxing, I also play the soprano recorder, and am self-taught on the violin.
Entertainment Goals
Simply put, to act. It is something I do well and enjoy. I do not have a lot of experience yet, but I am willing to work hard, with or without pay, and I can take direction, instruction, and constructive criticism without a fuss-- I am NOT a diva. (but I can play one if you need me to!)
